Mark Holland is the Member of Parliament for Ajax. A lifelong community advocate, Mark has lived in the Durham Region his entire life and previously served Ajax as Member of Parliament from 2004 – 2011. From 1997 to 2004, Mark served as a Durham Region and City of Pickering Councillor. During his time on Council, Mark focused on the redevelopment of Pickering’s waterfront, youth employment, environmental issues, and worked to keep Pickering’s taxes the lowest in Durham Region.
From 2015-2017, Mark served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Democratic Institutions. In 2017, Mark was appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, and was appointed Chief Government whip in 2018.
Mark is also the former Executive Director of the former Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada’s Ontario Mission and National Director of Children and Youth. Mark currently lives in Ajax with his three children and remains focused on supporting families in Ajax.
